The Marketing Mix

The Marketing Mix is the combination of marketing techniques that can be used to successfully satisfy consumers' requirements profitably.

This combination of marketing techniques is often called the 4 P's of Marketing.

  1. Product
  2. Price
  3. Place
  4. Promotion
A Target Market is a group of consumers identified as being the people most likely to buy a particular product.  Advertising and promotion is aimed at this group.

Market Segmentation means subdividing the market for a product into specific groups of people who share common characteristics: eg young people, middle aged people and senior citizens.
